A desk with a detachable top shelf.

This type of desk was once used in Chinese restaurants for display quality tea leaves.

The desk has two drawers and the front of each drawer is decorated with a beaded begonia motif with a floral shaped metal plate and a leaf shaped pull.

The front apron is cuspated creating beautiful curves that echo the curves of the cabriole legs. The stretches between the front and back legs are joint with a panel from side to side which helps to enhance stability of the desk. The detachable top shelf carving of floral motifs and a piece of stone is inserted in the Canter of some floral decorations. The front edges of the side panels, partitions and back railings are cuspated creating curves that break the monotony of linearity of the desk.
