Kitchen cabinets are commonly used in the River South region of China. They are usually cleverly designed with good ventilation and protection from files and other elements.

The frame members are decorated with beading along the edges. The cabinet consists to two sections with the upper part a set of doors that contains 4 panels, 2 on each side and the two door panels are joint together with hinges . The doors are also divided into two sections with the upper part decorated with open fretwork and behind the fretwork is a finely woven bamboo screen that is detachable and one it is attached, it helps to deter the entrance of bugs and insects. the lower section of the door is of solid wood that is decorated with beautiful carvings of floral images. Within the top interior there are five shelves with the three drawers in the middle providing ample storage. The low section of the cabinet is a hidden compartment that is not easily accessible, might very lightly built for the storage of delicate dining wares that requires a key to open.

The same design idea is seen on the two sides of the cabinet with open fretwork on the top and close panels on the low section.

The cabinet is beautifully made and can be compared to a piece of art that is finely and thoughtfully made.
