A pair of red lacquered wooden side chests.

This pair has a red lacquered frame with bamboo strips inlaid on the top of the floating panels. The two front drawers and the doors are decorated similarly with a mitred frame and bamboo strips inserted to the frame using tongue and groove.

The front of each drawers is decorated with a floral shaped metal with a cloud motif hasp. The doors are decorated with a pair of rectangular shaped metal plates that are gently indented at the corners. The rectangular face plates each has an angular protrusion that carries a hole allowing a pin to go through and lock the doors. Underneath the protrusions and pin is a pair of cloud motifs gasps.

The aprons are plain and nit decorated with the front apron in red lacquer and the side aprons in black lacquer.

Members of the side frames are lacquered black.
