A pair of flushed sided stand.
This pair of stand has a very simple form with mitered and mortised frame members and a floating panel forming the top. The legs are joint to the top using mitred and mortised joints. The straight legs come down from the corners and ended in inward upturned hoofs. The middle shelf apart from being functional also serves as stretchers to strengthen the entire structure.
The stands were one covered with thin burgundy lacquer finishes but due to the passage of time, most of the lacquer finishes have been worn off leaving traces of the original finishes on the surface of the wood.
